Assistant Professor of Sociology at Stetson University

Before joining Stetson University, I spent five years at McGill University’s Department of Sociology, where I earned my Ph.D. in 2023. My research lies at the intersection of migration, gender, and family, with a focus on two core areas.

First, I examine how second-generation individuals navigate the often-conflicting influences of their immigrant parents and mainstream society in forming their gender role attitudes and fertility values.

Second, I explore how cultural norms from countries of origin, along with parental socialization, continue to shape family ideals and behaviors among immigrant communities in Europe and Canada.
